Highlights of the Festival
Sports for Conservation
The festival organized by SportsUganda Ltd UK and Sembeza Africa kicked off on Friday with a #clean-up drive of the towns surrounding Nkumba University our hosting partners and continued throughout the weekend with varying conservation activities led by our conservation Partners; Uganda Wildlife Education Centre, Lukango Tree Conservancy in cohort with Avian Conservation Uganda Society. The weekend was filled with a series of Conservation and sports events that got everyone moving and having fun. From basketball and football to rugby and skipping, participants of all ages had the opportunity to engage in various sports activities. It was heartwarming to see children and adults alike enjoying the games, cheering each other on, and fostering a sense of community. The sports activities served as a powerful reminder of how sports can bring people together and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
Live Band and BBQ

Attendees enjoyed delicious BBQ while dancing to the vibrant tunes of the live band. The atmosphere was electric, filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of mouth-watering food. It was a perfect way to wind down after a day of sports and activities, providing a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax and connect.
Fireside Discussions
One of the unique aspects of the Ubuntu II Festival was the fireside discussions held on the first day. These discussions covered a wide range of topics, including the past, present, and future of sports in Uganda and East Africa, the role of sports in conservation, and the impact of community initiatives. The discussions were insightful and engaging, offering attendees the chance to learn, share ideas, and envision a better future for sports and conservation.
Cultural Performance by the Entebbe Cultural Troupe
The festival reached its climax with a breathtaking cultural performance by the Entebbe Cultural Troupe on Sunday evening. The troupe’s vibrant dances, traditional music, and captivating storytelling left the audience spellbound.
